A mid-length film filled with heart and determination, Project Pipe Dreams is a clarion call to follow your dreams, whatever your age.

What drives a man to dedicate years of his life to a single, near-impossible challenge? Filmmaker Manus Fraser attempts to find out in his charming tale of a musical obsession.

He first hears of Gilbert and the Herculean task he has undertaken through rumours of an internet purchase like no other – the octogenarian has shipped a 3000-pipe organ halfway across the world and is now attempting to re-assemble the enormous, delicately-crafted and temperamental instrument.

Fraser brings us along on Gilbert’s odyssey, meeting a delightful cast of friends and fellow obsessives who help our unassuming hero to realise his dream – one pipe at a time.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Manus Fraser, hosted by Head of Publications of the Royal College of Organists and Editor of The Lady Organist, Morwenna Campbell-Smith.
