“Har'el is doing things in this movie that I haven’t seen before. And that’s thrilling." - Flavorwire
"LoveTrue has the tingle of true love" - Variety
Acclaimed director Alma Har’el (Bombay Beach) offers a unique exploration of the challenges that love can present and how our past and present experiences shape the decisions we make when the fantasy of True Love dissipates.
Featuring a Flying Lotus soundtrack, the film examines non-fiction performance as a documentation of truth and a purveyor of memory. Following three surprising love stories in starkly different American landscapes, we dive into the mysterious, the familiar, the dysfunctional, and the imaginary aspects of their relationships.
LoveTrue is a poetic roller-coaster down the inevitable nature of our shifting perspective on love.
We're delighted that director Alma Har'el will be joining us for a special DocHouse Thursdays screening on Thursday 9 February at 18:30, hosted by Bec Evans from Dazed.
Bec Evans has experience working in documentary on productions for Channel 4, the BBC and Al-Jazeera as well as developing films in collaboration with El Colegio Del Cuerpo, Colombia and The Annenberg Foundation, LA, which explore socio-political issues through observing art forms in practice. Bec is now steering Film and Video creation at Dazed.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO ADVERTS PLAYED BEFORE FILMS IN THE BERTHA DOCHOUSE SCREEN SO ARRIVE PROMPTLY.
