With the daffodils and crocuses slowly raising their sleepy heads out of the cold earth, and the songbirds’ choruses sounding out both a little earlier and later each day, the warmth of our memories and desires for normality can also start to stir a little in the spring rain.
Now that a roadmap out of lockdown is announced, all our thoughts and attention can hopefully start to turn to recovery, to self-care and healing, to regrow in all its fullest, seasonal glory. With our latest competition we’re asking you to tell us what the concept of “regrowth” means to you right now.
This is our most open-ended competition yet, so please don’t feel that you have to keep your discussion related to COVID-19 if you are feeling well and truly a little fatigued on that front. You also have the creative freedom to use any kind of equipment (camera, phone or desktop) to film your short-doc.
Whether it is your love for spring you would like to tell us about or you would be more interested in looking back on something as the Arab Spring, please feel free to explore the theme of “regrowth” however you like.
Get creative and you might you might win one of our exciting prize bundles!
We're also inviting you to join our Introduction to Animated Documentaries - Workshop. If you would like your regrowth-themed doc to use animation in its exploration of the topic, Uri Kranot will be giving a horizon-expanding introduction to animated documentaries, where he will cover all the latest movements and trends that have been transforming this field of the documentary form. Book your free spot here.
