In an area of Cape Town infamous for having one of the highest murder rates in the world, rival gangs engage in a deadly turf war to control the supply of illegal drugs. As leader of the Nice Time Kids, ageing gangster Braaim juggles life on the streets with his responsibilities as a father and breadwinner.

When emotional pressure from his wife to lead a normal life mounts, Braaim is torn between his loyalty to his gang and securing the future of his young family. But what's a gangster to do when all he's known is the street? As Braaim discovers, walking away from a life of crime isn't easy.

Director Riaan Hendricks paints a deeply intimate, unflinching and extraordinary portrait of a man whose greatest fear is bestowing his grievous fate to his children.

Director Riaan Hendricks will join us for a post-screening Q&A (via Skype).
