DocHouse is proud to present a special event featuring the first films from the new Independent Film and Television College in Baghdad, presented by Maysoon Pachachi co-founder of the school.
For decades no television or film production free of Iraqi government control was possible. The Independent Film and Television College was set up in 2004 to enable young Iraqi's to put their stories on the screen for the first time. The films were made in dangerous and uncertain circumstances between the end of 2004 and October 2005. Each opens a window onto the life of ordinary Iraqis at this extraordinary time.
