In the wake of his father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis, director Giacomo Boeri turns to the magic of cinema to recreate and preserve memories as filmed stories.

Sandro began writing his memories in 2020, describing incredible episodes of his life, which no one in the family was aware of. A near-death experience at the age of six, which also brought first loss of a loved one. A student protest and police ambush. A surreal fishing trip. Giacomo casts actors to step into Sandro’s shoes, committing his most emotionally resonating moments to film, made available forever – for Sandro, as much as for his family. The power of love and imagination, as a tool for change and hope, even towards what seems irreversible.
