Mutlu Kaya was a Kurdish teenager with an exceptional singing voice and the star of Turkey’s Got Talent, when she was shot by a local man at her home in Southeast Turkey. Despite life changing injuries, Mutlu goes in search of justice and to reclaim her voice as a singer.
My Name is Happy follows Mutlu’s journey from teen singer to fearless survivor, shining a light on femicide in Turkey while staying close to Mutlu and her extraordinary family.
