Palestinian filmmaker Mohamed Jabaly charts his years stranded in Northern Norway, far from his home and family in Gaza, as he fights for his rights with unwavering courage.
While working on his first feature documentary Ambulance, Mohamed is invited to Gaza’s sister city Tromsø for a film festival. Leaving Gaza is almost impossible, and soon after he arrives in Norway, the borders to his homeland close indefinitely. Refusing to give up his Palestinian identity in order to apply for asylum, Mohamed becomes stateless – caught up in blizzard of global politics and bureaucracy.
While he makes friends and comrades in Tromsø, Mohamed never stops battling for his rights as a Palestinian and as a filmmaker, all the while trying to stay connected to his family back home. This is a rich self-portrait of tenacity, from an irrepressible filmmaker determined to share the stories of his homeland.
