From the metropolis of Khartoum, five Sudanese people (a civil servant, a tea lady, a resistance volunteer and two street boys) have their stories unexpectedly woven together in this evocative mosaic by four Sudanese directors in a collaboration with British filmmaker Phil Cox.

Filming began in Sudan under the post-coup military leadership, but when war broke out again, both the participants and the directors were forced to flee. Displaced in East Africa, they continued their innovative, cinematic journey, combining oral storytelling, staged reenactments and animated ‘dreamscapes’ to tell their stories.
