30 years after Abbas Kiarostami made Homework, they begin by asking today’s school children the same questions as Kiarostami asked – about homework, their schooling, their home lives, what they play with, their parents, their dreams for the future. Piece by piece, answer by answer, we sense a society with a widening gulf between rich and poor; but, of course, they will all tell you they have done their homework.
