A century after publication, T. S. Eliot's The Waste Land remains one of the most enduring and elusive works of the 20th century.

Bringing together literary scholars, writers and thinkers, Chris Teerink’s film of the same name offers a strikingly original, contemporary interpretation of this enigmatic work, which has haunted and intrigued so many.

Favouring powerful still photographs over moving images, and a soundtrack by Dutch singer-songwriter Blaudzun, Teerink seeks out parallels across the world today, showing how Eliot’s words continue to resonate and to fuel our imagination, 100 years on.

Fresh from its world premiere at Rotterdam Film Festival, the UK premiere of The Waste Land was followed by a Q&A with director Chris Teerink and writer and curator Ben Nicholson.
