In a remote village in northern Mexico, life consists of the most elementary things.
Filmmaker Tatiana Huezo worked with three families in the village of El Eco to create this exquisite, rich portrait of their everyday life; a life deeply connected to animals and nature, encompassing love, family, illness and death.
Taking time to capture gestures, expressions and the changes of the natural world, Huezo’s deeply empathetic approach places us within El Eco, not staring from afar. As the seasons change dramatically and the children grow, there are hardships endured, kindnesses bestowed, communal joys and quiet rebellions.
