In the comfortable confines of Vienna’s Funkhaus, two actors read the poet’s famous letters to each other. Slowly but surely, the writers’ intense emotions inhabit the bodies and faces of the two readers, filmed in close-up. With them, we re-live the aftermath of the Second World War as a pair of young people questioning the concept of love.
The resulting film is a brilliant cross between observational documentary and essay film.
