The old freight station in Zürich is being torn down, to be replaced with a new building: a prison and deportation centre. Acclaimed Swiss filmmaker Thomas Imbach spent seven years observing this process from his bedroom window.
From his unique vantage point, he wrings life and beauty from the restless movement of machinery, the jackhammers, the cranes, the collapses, and the workers engaged in deconstruction. As the new detention centre grows in its place, the testimonies of newly arrived immigrants start to emerge.
