Solar Eclipse

Two Czech engineers return to Zambia to reconstruct the solar electric system they set up five years before.

Finding, to their dismay, that their ingeniously constructed system has been left in ruins through a combination of neglect, tampering and misguided repair-attempts, they set about reconstructing it.

The interplay between the givers and receivers of international aid is quietly laid bare in this non-judgemental, incisive and frequently very funny observational documentary by Czech master Martin Mareček.
