“Grimonprez’s superb, gut-punching exploration of the global arms trade is the sort of catalyst to energize politically-minded viewers… deserves wide exposure at home and abroad.” – Variety

Shadow World is the masterful documentary from Johan Grimonprez that exposes the depths of corruption within the global arms trade – based on Andrew Feinstein’s globally acclaimed book The Shadow World: Inside the Global Arms Trade.

Through the lens of new and varied perspectives, Shadow World reveals the extent of corruption within international politics whilst exploring the extent to which humanism can exist in today’s world; whilst an arms dealer refers to politicians as sales rep who ‘do what they’re told’, a political philosopher asks what it would mean to have a political system based on love, rather than fear.

As Grimonprez re-imagines recent political history, he unveils the ranks of power within the arms trade, which have been fuelling global wars for the last century.
