Queer as Punk

In a country where human rights and freedom of expression are severely curtailed, the bandmates bring humour, authenticity and punk spirit to their performances, travelling the country and refusing to let social pressures silence them.

Director Yihwen Chen follows the band over several years of instability in Malaysia’s political landscape. For the trio of friends, relationships blossom, opportunities are seized, there are friendships and family dynamics to navigate, and the enduring courage it takes to express themselves freely.
