The compelling story of two women struggling for survival under the oppressive Iranian regime.
Minna and Fariba are neighbours and are both heroin-addicted prostitutes, and single mothers. Returning to Iran after seventeen years, filmmaker Nahid Persson is amazed at how things have changed for women since the ‘revolution’, where state sanctioned prostitution in the form of ‘sighe’ is rife. The trust she gains among the women makes for an illuminating and heart-rending portrayal of their plight.
