Sao Paolo’s Sabao Favela is a sprawling concrete jungle in the heart of the city. Home to four friends - Djan, William, Ricardo and Biscoito whose unique form of pixacao (Brazilian graffiti) is about to gain them worldwide attention.

A place where you can live your entire life without ever leaving, or anyone outside knowing you exist. But for four friends life is about to change. Pixadores is the story of Djan, William, Ricardo and Biscoito – whose death defying work can be seen emblazoned on high rises across Sao Paolo. Some call them artists. For others they are anarchists or criminals. They prefer to see themselves as the favela’s political soldiers. Scaling taller and taller buildings without ropes in the middle of the night they must quickly spray-paint their tags before the police catch them.

When an invitation from the Berlin Biennale arrives the Pixadors enter another world but their social and aesthetic values clash with the festivals curators and the trip tests the groups friendship to breaking point. Dramatically shot, this is an adrenaline fuelled, breath-taking debut from Amir Escandari.
