Determined to push mainstream media to include their culture in the visual record of American history, Lee produced an astonishing archive of nearly a million compelling photographs. Using his camera as a “weapon against injustice,” Corky Lee’s art is his activism, and his unforgettable images empowered generations.
Armed with 19 years of footage of Corky in action, Jennifer Takaki’s intimate portrait reveals the triumphs and tragedies of the man behind the lens.
