In this ambitious, electrifying film, acclaimed director Raoul Peck (I Am Not Your Negro) channels Orwell’s prescient text into a powerful, cinematic reflection on our times.
Exploring Orwell’s life and the development of his last, and arguably most important, novel, Peck delves deep into the author’s final months to understand the future he prophesised. Pairing his original diary entries with contemporary footage, Peck amplifies the power of Orwell’s words in today’s world.
The preview screening on Wednesday 25th March was followed by an in-person Q&A between journalist Dorian Lynskey and director Raoul Peck, in partnership with The Nerve.
