The son of a US Ambassador and grandson of a legendary Vogue editor doesn’t seem like the type of person to walk away from a life of wealth and privilege to pursue the Buddhist ideal. But thats exactly what Nicky Vreeland did. The up and coming photographer left it all behind to follow his true calling, he moved to India to live in a monastery with no running water or electricity.
Now, decades later, with the monastery in need of more housing and a new temple Nicky plunges back into his old world of photography to raise money, and unwittingly assumes a role in the political games surrounding the disputed Buddhist nation of Tibet.
