His activist career started when he was just 14 years old but as a powerful and charismatic spokesperson of a new generation, Joshua quickly became the leader of the Umbrella Movement and one of China’s most notorious dissidents. With mass protests in 2014 leading to a 79-day campaign to shut down Hong Kong’s financial district, the movement rallied thousands of kids to occupy the streets.
