A tongue-in-cheek parody of a parable, this documentary follows the character "nothing", narrated by Iggy Pop, as it leaves home to discover the world.
Travelling across eight mountain ranges and eight seas to come and visit us, ‘nothing’ comments on all it sees, contemplating life and death, politics, the relationship between men and women, and the meaning of life, all in simple verse. Iggy Pop’s rhythmic narration and a score by cabaret grandmasters Pascal and the Tiger Lillies are met with a series of stunning images of nothing, filmed all over the world by 62 cinematographers.
The result is a playful, self-reflexive expedition where small mysteries and poetic observations blend to form a compelling whole. A delightful excursion about everything and nothing.
