With mesmerising underwater cinematography, How Deep is Your Love takes us way down below the surface with a team of scientists exploring the unknown: the deep sea, where 70% of our planet lies hidden.

Their life’s work is finding, describing and naming strange and wonderful deep sea creatures, and now they find themselves racing against the looming threat of deep-sea mining, as they search for thriving ecosystems in the unexplored darkness.

Director Eleanor Mortimer weaves wonder with urgency, challenging us to balance the drive for resources with the intrinsic value of an ecosystem. As we journey through this breathtaking realm, we are left to ponder – how deep is our love?

Followed by a Q&A with director Eleanor Mortimer, Eva Stewart (Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Natural History Museum) and Belen Arias (Science Manager, Data and Sequencing, Ocean Census Scientific Associate, Natural History Museum).

Presented in partnership with LDNDOCS
