Gladys St. John-Colegrove patiently waits to be reunited with her two dead husbands, communicating with them regularly, but lives a full life of friendships and conversation while she still can.

A five year long conversation with Gladys is intercut with street scenes of New York, multiracial crowds, changing weather and seasons resulting in a compassionate portrait of an extraordinary woman and her city.
