In May 2021, a UK Home Office dawn raid triggered one of the most spontaneous and successful acts of civil resistance in recent memory.

On the morning of the first day of Eid, in Pollokshields, one of Glasgow’s most diverse neighbourhoods, word of an Immigration Enforcement van spread, and hundreds of residents rushed to the scene to stop the deportation of their neighbours.

Glasgow-based filmmaker Felipe Bustos Sierra recounts the extraordinary events of that day from street level, creating a nail-biting and inspiring tribute to collective action, told by many of the ordinary people who responded, organised and remained for eight hours on Kenmure Street that day.

The screening on Friday the 13th of March was followed by a Q&A with director Felipe Bustos Sierra and cinematographer Kirstin McMahon. Hosted by film producer and curator Elhum Shakerifur.
