Both a classic David and Goliath story and a timely exposé, Elephant Mother follows Lek Chailert, a tribal Thai woman.

In a bid to save the iconic and once-sacred Thai elephants, Lek is taking on the huge and highly profitable Thai tourism industry.

Determined to give all elephants a life free from cruelty and exploitation, Lek rescues abused animals and brings them to her own sanctuary. Whilst she is globally renowned within the conservation world, the odds are all stacked against her as she faces big business, political corruption, and a ‘mafia’ of traders and traffickers.

To celebrate the release of Elephant Mother, we’re bringing Brett Morgen’s Jane back for a one-off screening on Sun 11 Aug.
