Spend a day in New York's Central Park, with the people who make use of it.

Frederick Wiseman invites us to look in on a wedding ceremony, a poetry masterclass, a picnic, a Pavarotti concert. Former NYC mayor Ed Koch is delivering a bombastic speech, while elsewhere the joggers, walkers, skaters and a solitary practitioner of Tai Chi go about their activities.

Each observation is a patch in the quilt of Central Park, through which the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts, reflecting New York and New Yorkers in 1989.

Playing as part of our Frederick Wiseman season. See the full lineup here.
