One week after the 1967 ‘Six-Day War’, renowned author Amos Oz and editor Avraham Shapira recorded intimate conversations with soldiers returning from the battlefield.

Winner: Best Documentary, Ophir Awards, 2015

“A jolting reality check” – ScreenDaily

“Masterful cinema, provocative and inflaming content” – CinemaScope

Fifty years later we observe the same men listening back to their harrowing confessions for the first time.

These provocative tapes, censored until now, are at the core of a startling film about the tragic paradox of Zionism and the contradictions that arise when a people seeking freedom turn occupier, when David becomes Goliath. The soldiers’ harrowing confessions are combined with rare archive which creates a sense of stunning immediacy.

As they wrestle with the systemic removal of Palestinians, the dehumanising nature of war, and echoes of the Holocaust, we listen as these men, now almost 50 years older, hear the recordings for the first time, and the past erupts into the present.
