Can Tunis is a seedy suburb of Barcelona. The local authorities are determined to knock down the entire quarter, but the Gypsies who live there will not budge that easily - they demand alternative housing they can afford.

The city has already commenced demolition: half the neighbourhood is in ruins, and the occupants look on as more and more buildings are being taken down, uneasy about their homes as well as their future. Can Tunis is a sincere and poignant portrait of a neighbourhood in utter disorder.
