The screening on Thursday the 29th of May was followed by a Q&A with director Ben Rivers.

Artist and filmmaker Ben Rivers returns to Bogancloch in the Scottish Highlands, the forested home of Jake Williams, who featured in his 2011 film Two Years at Sea.

Deeply absorbed in the landscape, living a self-sufficient life – simple but not without pleasures – Jake is captivating to watch through Rivers’ patient lens.

Filmed in black-and-white on 16mm and 35mm film, Bogancloch follows Jake throughout the seasons, with occasional social interactions in an otherwise solitary life, gently capturing on celluloid a different way of being in and with the world.
