What lengths must you go to in order to get a job that you are trained and qualified to do?

In the South of Italy, hundreds of unemployed nurses cross the country to compete for just a handful of positions in the North, but most will return unsuccessful. There aren’t enough vacancies for thousands of applicants, and the system seems broken.

Offering huge insight into the social and economic fabric of Italy today, this beautifully observed film takes the form of a road trip, travelling with the would-be workers who have set their sights on a ‘steady job’. Mattia Colombo and Gianluca Matar’s thoughtful film tells the human story of a public sector jobs crisis.
