During an intensive seven-day camp, we see dating aficionado Hao impart his expertise, from style advice to tips on approaching women, and photo shoots at aspirational locations for dating app profiles.
But as Zhou, Li and Wu stumble through the camp’s awkward challenges, and we learn more about Hao himself, The Dating Game becomes a bittersweet reflection on courtship and loneliness in the digital age, set against the unique challenges of contemporary China.
