A powerful testament to the human spirit, Mediha follows a teenage Yazidi girl as she fights to find her missing family members, in the wake of her own enslavement by ISIS.
Having survived kidnapping and captivity, and returned to her remaining family in a camp in Iraqi Kurdistan, Mediha turns her camera on herself to process her trauma. Through her personal video-diaries, she confronts her pain, while also initiating investigations into her captors. Mediha’s journey is one of courage and determination as she steps towards a future of justice and healing.

Women for Women International invests where inequality is greatest by helping women who are forgotten — the women survivors of war and conflict. Since 1993, their global community has invested in the power of over 570,000 women across 17 conflict-affected countries, to create a ripple effect that makes the world more equal, peaceful, and prosperous.
Over the next ten years, their goal is to scale our impact to improve the lives of millions of the most marginalised women affected by war and conflict. Their vision is to create a world in which all women determine the course of their lives and reach their full potential.
