A dreamy, philosophical and sociological look at life as adventurer Bruce Parry travels from the jungles of Malaysia to the tributaries of the Amazon searching for a deeper understanding of humanity, society and the natural world.

Tawai is the word the nomadic hunter-gatherers of Borneo use to describe their inner feeling of connection to nature. Adventurer Bruce Parry returns to Borneo to reconnect with the Penan, whom he first met a decade ago, and to see how their way of life is being affected by massive logging projects in the area.

His time with the Penan is the starting point for Bruce to explore what has changed in our interaction with the natural world.
