The Quietus Short Films Support Our Upcoming Music Season!
The Quietus is the UK's leading rock music and pop culture website with a focus on independent music, film, events and whatever else tickles their fancy. We are thrilled to be collaborating with them on our upcoming music season this July with a selected series of short films on musicians 'At Leisure'.
At Leisure is the brain child of Quietus co-editor Luke Turner and director Ethan Reid, who, for the past two years have wandered the UK making films about the non-musical habits and hobbies of some of their favourite cult musicians. We love musicians for their art, but what do these people get up to in their spare time, and what can we learn about them from it?
We will present films on Stephen Morris (Joy Division, New Order) on his military vehicle collection and Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Grinderman, The Cramps, Sonic Youth) on Tiki cocktail culture, amongst others - both weird and wonderful!
We have partnered each film with a feature concert doc which will play throughout the week commencing 10th July. See what we've got in store below:
