Witnesses, prosecution and defence prepare for one of the most significant tribunals in recent history in this tense and chilling observation of General Ratko Mladić’s trial at the Hague for crimes against humanity during the Bosnian War.

Thousands of Serbian-Muslim men and boys were slaughtered in Former Yugoslavia in the 1990s, in a horrific act of ethnic cleansing headed up by former Bosnian-Serb military commander General Ratko Mladić. Nicknamed “The Butcher of Bosnia”, Mladic is charged with two counts of genocide – the most serious crime under international war – and attends his trial as the defence and prosecution lock into a tense battle.

During the case, a mass execution and burial site is discovered in Prijedor, which throws the defence into chaos as they struggle to find a witness who will vouch for Mladić’s innocence. Mladić’s loyal defence team spend time with his son Darko, and attempt to show his benevolent side, while archive footage, and stories from witnesses, reveal the heartless and brutal trickery Mladić’s troops undertook.
