GARRY WINOGRAND: ALL THINGS ARE PHOTOGRAPHABLE

Dir: Sasha Waters Freyer
United States / 2018 / 90mins

Winner of the Special Jury Prize at this year’s SXSW Festival, this fascinating documentary explores the life and art of American-Jewish photographer Garry Winogrand who, alongside fellow artists Diane Arbus and Lee Friedlander, revolutionised the world of photography in the mid and late 20th century, in the USA and beyond. Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner and British author Geoff Dyer are two of the many artists, curators and friends who explore Winogrand’s life and the lasting impact of his pioneering art on the way we take and appreciate pictures today.
