On Sunday the 3rd of July we were joined by filmmakers Joan Churchill and Alan Barker for a special discussion, hosted by journalist Carol Nahra.

Renowned filmmaker Joan Churchill presents the first two parts of her work-in-progress series on legendary fellow cinematographer and director Haskell Wexler.

Co-directed with Alan Barker, these intimate films are created from footage they shot with Haskell in the last ten years of his life, featuring relaxed and candid conversations with friends including filmmakers D. A. Pennebaker, Chris Hegedus, Hubert Sauper and photojournalist Susan Meiselas, on the very nature of documentary. Their lively debates question cinematic representation, whether it’s possible to capture reality, how the camera affects a situation and whether or not there is such a thing as objectivity.
