For more than twenty years, highly acclaimed editor David Charap has moved back and forth between documentary and fiction genres in a varied career including films directed by Pawel Pawlikowski, Mark Isaacs and Kevin Macdonald.

David's most recent credits include some of the most creative and lauded feature documentaries of 2020: Jerry Rothwell's BIFA-winning The Reason I Jump, Thomas Imbach's IDFA winner Nemesis, Rob Lemkin's African Apocalypse and Marc Isaacs' The Filmmaker's House (set for a UK release in June.)

In this masterclass, David will focus on a selection of his recent non-fiction work, discussing his approaches and methods, while editing in very different genres and with very different directors, and considering the changing role of the documentary editor.

Hosted by DocHouse's Elizabeth Wood.
