As much a trip down memory lane as a timely reminder of who we are and how we got here, How We Used to Live is a unique celebration of post-war London by acclaimed director Paul Kelly. Created through a compelling use of rare footage drawn from the BFI National Archive, from 1950 -1980, the film sheds light on the early days of the welfare state right up to the opening years of Margaret Thatcher’s reign, with original music by Saint Etienne and spellbinding narration by Ian McShane.
