A fairytale of love lost and found, this is the story of 11-year-old Laura Anne who lives in the depressed Cumbrian town of Siddick. We follow her tumultuous love-life as she searches for the perfect boyfriend. Meanwhile, her tough and charismatic cousin Steven protects her from harm whilst dealing with the absence of his father, away serving time in prison.
Visually stunning set by the harsh Cumbrian coastline among windmills, fields and factories, this is a poignant reflection on the loss of childhood innocence.
This screening will be followed by a masterclass with filmmaker Marc Isaacs including clips and discussions.
