"A masterpiece... compulsively entertaining" - New York Magazine
"The most powerful and essential documentary about class, race, and gender in America in years " - Buzzfeed
We're thrilled to announce another screening of the Oscar Nominated 7.5 hour epic, O.J: Made in America, this time also featuring a Q&A with director Ezra Edelman and producer Caroline Waterlow. The Q&A will be hosted by Dave Calhoun (Time Out).
It is the defining cultural tale of modern America - a saga of race, celebrity, media, violence, and the criminal justice system. And two decades after its unforgettable climax, it continues to fascinate, polarise, and even, yes, develop new chapters.
O.J. revisits - and redefines - it all. The domestic abuse. The police investigation. The white Bronco chase. The trial of the century. The motive, the blood, the glove. The verdict. The aftermath. Drawing upon more than seventy interviews - from long-time friends and colleagues of Simpson to the recognisable protagonists of the murder investigation to observers and commentators with distinct connections to the story - this documentary event is an engrossing, compelling, and unforgettable look at a tantalising saga.
At the end of what seems like a search for the real truth about O.J. Simpson, what's revealed just as powerfully is a collection of indelible, unshakeable, and haunting truths about America, and about ourselves.
Note, the film will be screened in three parts, with two intervals including a short lunch break.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO ADVERTS PLAYED BEFORE FILMS IN THE BERTHA DOCHOUSE SCREEN SO ARRIVE PROMPTLY.
