On August 7th, 1974, a young Frenchman named Philippe Petit stepped out on a wire illegally rigged between the New York World Trade Centre's twin towers. He danced on the wire with no safety net for almost an hour, crossing it a total of eight times before being arrested.
Man on Wire tells the breath-taking story of the now legendary tightrope walk. Mixing Petit's personal footage from the event with new re-enactments, highlighting how he overcame seemingly insurmountable challenges to achieve what became known as the "artistic crime of the century!".
