Four radical Italian wine growers attempt to forge a link to their ancient Etruscan heritage by seeking natural methods to winegrowing and crusading for environmentalism. On the surface they live a life we all dream of, making natural wine in beautiful Tuscany. But their livelihood is under threat as they are being forced to fight against corporate politics and EU legislation. They are forced to adopt creative methods to combat the new economic order of bureaucratic dictates that oppose natural wines growing methods whilst approving chemically manufactured alternatives.

10 years after Mondovino, director Jonathan Nossiter revisits the wine world, only to discover it’s changed immeasurably but these natural wine rebels still offer a model of charmed and joyous resistance. Natural Resistance mixes documentary and fiction in the hope of stirring the hidden rebel inside all of us.
