Filmmaking Competition: 'Re-Emergence' | Free Entry + Prizes
A picture of a young Asian woman wearing a protective face mask. She stands with her face close to a window, staring outside. Her left had is pressed against the glass.
OUR LATEST THEME IS 'RE-EMERGENCE'. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE 6-10 MINUTES LONG.

This filmmaking competition is a longer form challenge than our previous editions, inviting aspiring documentary filmmakers to submit short docs from across all genres that are 6-10 minutes in length.

All entries must respond to the theme of 'Re-Emergence' into a very changed society in some form or another, but we leave interpretation of that theme up to you.

So as the English government's advice shifts from "Stay At Home" to "Eat Out to Help Out" will you explore your own journey to return to normality? Will you follow the socially distanced efforts of others to get back on their feet? Or will you document all the societal contradictions that come with re-emerging? What will inspire you?

Please be original with your title, don't feel compelled to use 'Re-Emergence' as a title.

WORKSHOPS

To help self-shooters explore the very different world we'll all be re-emerging into too, we'll be running a series of free workshops alongside our competition, to help you hone your craft of making films in the real world. You can find out more about these here.
