★★★★ "A haunting exercise in storytelling" - Total Film
"A shocking true tale of life and death." - Danny Leigh, Film 2015
After 23 years on Death Row a convicted murderer petitions the court asking to be executed. This is his story. But as he begins to tell it we gradually learn that nothing is quite what it seems. The Fear of 13 is a daring experiment in storytelling, a psychological thriller constructed from a single four-day long interview. In a monologue that is part confessional and part performance, Nick, the sole protagonist, tells a tale with all the twists and turns of classic crime drama. And as the story unfolds, it reveals something much deeper about the liberating power of love and literature. A final shocking twist casts everything in a new light.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Director David Sington, hosted by Laura Shacham, producer of One for Ten an online documentary series about innocent people on Death Row.
This screening will take place in Curzon Bloomsbury's main, Renoir Screen.
