A Palestinian poet and an Italian journalist decide to fake a wedding to help a group of immigrants fleeing the war in Syria complete their journey to Sweden. Enlisting the help of their friends to make up the wedding party, they set off from Milan on a four- day journey of three thousand kilometres. Along the way, memories are reawakened of a perilous journey to Lampedusa, of the war at home and of friends who got killed.
With the swelling numbers of migrants desperate to get into Europe, borders shutting down, calls to suspend Schengen and rhetoric reaching fever pitch, the questions raised in this empathetic film have never been more timely and important.
Followed by a Q&A with co-director Gabriele Del Grande.
