DocHouse First: BENDING THE ARC

+ Skype Q&A with co-director Pedro Kos, 18 Aug, 18:20
Dir: Kief Davidson & Pedro Kos
United States / 2017 / 102mins

“A glorious and uplifting film...Bending the Arc stretches and soars to the highest documentary dimension.” - The Hollywood Reporter

Documenting the incredible work of Partners in Health, Bending the Arc tells the story of a small group of doctors dedicated to their mission to make high-quality healthcare available to everyone, even in the world’s poorest countries.

Fighting entrenched diseases, political and bureaucratic machinery, and the charity-industrial complex itself, these crusaders forced the international community to embrace the idea that health care must be a basic human right in every society, and went ahead to provide it.

From their work in Haiti in the 1980s fighting tuberculosis and AIDS to the first cases of Ebola in Rwanda, Bending the Arc captures the incredible spirit and determination of the people who saved millions of lives around the world and transformed global health.

Co-director Pedro Kos will join us for a Q&A via Skype after the screening.
